2023: Taraba Assembly Suspends Four (4) Lawmakers

Sequel to the struggle and tussle of the 2023 elections, the Taraba State House of Assembly have today suspended four (4) legislators.
The Taraba State House of Assembly have suspended four (4) lawmakers, Rt. Hon. Peter Abel Diah (Warwar Ward, Sardauna LGA), Rt. Hon. Mark B. Useni (Bete Ward, Takum LGA), Hon. Gambo Maikudi (Suntai Ward, Bali LGA), Hon. Josiah J. Aji (Bantaje Ward, Wukari LGA) of the Taraba House of Assembly being the 22nd of June, 2022. This was contained in a verdict by the Speaker of the House Hon. Albasu Joseph Kunini after reading out a prior letter dated 17th June, 2022 signed by the acting People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Chairman on the involvement of the Four (4) members in defections and anti-party activities across their constituencies.
The Letter reads:
RE:DEFECTION AND ANTI-PARTY ACTIVITIES BY THE PEOPLE’S DEMOCRATIC PARTY MEMBERS/HON, MEMBERS OF TARABA STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY TO OTHER POLITICAL PARTIES.
In our earlier letter dated 10th June, 2022 in respect of the above subject matter refers. I wish to forward further communication from the four (4) wards of the four (4) local government areas, detailing the process of their investigations, adoption of reports of their respective disciplinary committee and eventual EXPULSION of the following from our great party:
